In a seminar titled Financial Crises, Real and Imagined: US 2008 vs China 2016, David Goldman discusses the "so-called Chinese debt bubble" and its relationship to the 2008 subprime debt crisis in the United States. David P. Goldman is best known for a series of essays in the Asia Times under the pseudonym Spengler, which have attracted a readership of millions. He has also served in senior positions in bodies such as Credit Suisse, Bank of America, Cantor Fitzgerald, Asteri Capital, SG Capital, and the Americas division of the Reorient Group investment bank based in Hong Kong. Alongside his work as an economist and analyst, he has published a number of articles in musicology.
